SKID MARKS History

Skidmark sports teams evolved from a co-ed softball team known as the Lindsay Olive "Pits". Six members of that team joined the Visalia YMCA volleyball league in the Fall of 1987. Those original members were Jim and Sue Crawford, Bob and Jeannie Craine, and Bob and Shari Williams. Before our first game that season, we were asked the name of our team. Since the girls had gone to the bathroom, Bob Williams blurted out the now infamous name of "Skidmarks"! And, thus, the birth of the Skidmarks. That team went on to win the volleyball league that year. Since then, Skidmark teams have competed (well, participated) in volleyball, softball, basketball, golf, bocce (lawn-bowling), and bowling.
 

Event News - It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of our great friend and founder of the SKID MARKS Jim Crawford - Thursday March 28, 2018.  Below is his last message posted here about a coming event.

 

Skidmark  ZIMA is Back 

It’s Miraculous!!!!!    Zima is back  …..  you know what this means?  

Oh, Yeah …. The resurrection of the Zima Open  --- and the Phoenix is reborn!!!!!! 

I was at Savemart and tripped over the Zima display!!  And, yes, I am now the owner of three (yes 3) cases of that magnificent elixir!!   So get ready  --- sometime this fall we will find a common date and consume the liquid of the gods!
 

We might have to play some shuffleboard and/or corn hole, too. We’ll keep you posted ---- in the meantime, stock up and stay cool!!!
